Macbeth: Shakespeare
We just finished reading Macbeth in our English class. I really liked it, but some things were to predictable. This was my first Shakespeare book that I've read. I can't wait till we get to read Romeo and Juliet next year. Here's some quotes on about Macbeth http://www.literary-quotations.com/m/macbeth.html

The Storm
Over the Easter Break we went to my grandpa's and there was a big wind storm. We were in Yorkton Swimming Pool, then the power went out. I was kind a scary because it was dark out. On the way back to my grandpa's we went on the highway and we were following a semi and he was pretty slow. When we pass him we looked back and the semi was tripping to the left side because of the wind. My Dad said that it was the worst blizzard they had in a long time.

Panthers win Gold!
It was just the day after my team won peewee “B” provincials in Unity Saskatchewan. Our team is called the Unity Panthers. We played Regina Gold in the final. The score was 2-1. It was one of the best games of my life. Then all of a sudden my Mom came running in with the Unity newspaper in her hand.
“Read this,” she said very excitedly. I grabbed the newspaper and read it out loud.
The Unity Panthers won the provincial game 2-1. The girls played outstanding! The Panthers scored two runs in the 5th inning. Regina Gold only scored one run in the 6th.
In the bottom of the 5th there was two out, and two on base. There was one runner on third and one runner on second. The shortstop for the Unity Panthers drove one into left field over the left fielders head. That was only the second hit of the game for the Panthers. She brought in two runs and she ended up on second base. Sadly thought the pitcher for Regina Gold struck out the first base man.
In the top of the 6th Regina Gold only scored one run. There were no outs. The 3rd base man hit the ball in right field and it ended up being a homerun. The Unity Pitcher walked a Regina Gold player. She tried to steal second base but the catcher gunned it to second and got her out. The pitcher for the Panthers started to get angry, and struck out the last two batters.
In the bottom of the 6th and the Panthers were still in the lead. The first batter for the Panthers got a walk. The next batter hit to the shortstop. Then the shortstop grabbed the ball and she tagged the runner going to second. There was one out and one runner on base. The pitcher struck out the next two batters. Sadly, the runner on first was not able the come home.
It was the top of the 7th there was two out, and one on second. The Panther pitcher only had to strike out one more person, and then they would win provincials. The count was three balls and two strikes. The pitcher let go of the ball and the batter swung. But, the catcher dropped the ball. The runner ran as fast she could. The catcher picked up the ball and threw the runner out going to first.
The Panthers won Gold! Coach Brent Webber said “It was the best they had ever played!” The Panthers will be going home with a gold metal, and Regina will be going home with the silver.
I put down the paper and smiled at my Mom, then looked at the shining gold metal. I will never forget the day I won the peewee “B” gold metal.

Vobab Test
Today in English we had to write a surprise vocab test. It's to test what vocabulary grade you are in. It goes from grade one to college. Our English teacher said everyone who takes it usually drops three or four grades. There were 238 words on the test. I had to match it up with the synonym of the word. The test was six pages long. I hope I did good!

The Olympics
The Olympics are coming up and I'm really excited. My whole family is cheering for Team Kevin Martin for the Olympics. He is a professional curler. His team is from Alberta and he's one of my favorite Curlers. Kevin Martin has only been to the Olympics twice, and he has won the Brier many times. He has won the last to Briers in 2007, and 2008. http://www.olympic.ca/
